Roy, New Mexico
Roy, New Mexico is home to the Longhorns. We are located in the largest land encompassing county with the fewest residents.
Scenic by-way Highway 39 runs through the center of town. To our north you will find the Mills Canyon. Mills Canyon is home to many recreation seekers during from Spring to late Fall months. To the west of Roy is the Canadian River Canyon. The canyon is a deep, natural gorge that the Canadian River flows through on its way to Conchas Dam.
Roy does not have much in the way of night life or just plain ole fun things to do, but it is an excellent community to raise children. The children attend the local Roy Schools where they have a very small student to teacher ratio. Ninety-Nine percent of the graduates from Roy High School go on to successfully complete a four-year college education.
The community stands behind the students. Whether it is a football game or an enchilada dinner, the community turns out for it.
That is the spirit of the Village of Roy ~ community!
