Solar Demonstration Project

 

HELP-New Mexico, Inc. will provide Photovoltaic Design and Installation training for participants and demonstration projects to benefit Non Profit Organizations who are willing to collaborate with HELP-New Mexico, Inc.

 

solar panelsThe Specialized Solar Training will consist of 40 hours of training to include 32 hours of classroom training and 18 hours of Solar panel installation for the participants. Participants will receive a certificate of knowledge after completion of the five day training. The Specialized Solar training is being funded by the CSBG Stimulus program. As such, we need to recruit participants and non profits in the following areas: Albuquerque, Bernalillo, Espanola, and Las Vegas. The Las Cruces area is already recruiting participants and has an identified non profit organization.

 

Participants interested in receiving the training will need to meet GSBG Stimulus program requirements with the usual paper work being completed. Each area is asked to recruit 25 participants for the project, find a training location and arrange for meals.

 

Organizations whose goals are aligned in the promotion of green job training opportunities through hands on training, in solar electric are needed to serve as demonstration project sites for the installation of a Photovoltaic systems ranging in size from 1-KW  to  3-KW.

 

A Non profit wishing to participate in the project must be a 501-C-3, and be able to demonstrate building ownership. It must also have an electrical system that complies with current state and city code and has the capacity to expand to hold the additional system.

The Project

 

HELP-New Mexico, Inc. a statewide community based organization, is seeking to provide Solar Panel Design and Installation Demonstration Projects in Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Espaņola, Albuquerque, Bernalillo and Las Cruces. HELP-New Mexico, Inc., via the Community Service Block Grant Stimulus funding, will provide 145 eligible adults with classroom and hands on solar panel installation training by photovoltaic certified instructors and licensed electricians.
